Of the four big manufacturers from Japan, I think Kawasaki has always been the most innovative. In Taiwan in the 1960s, when everyone(Honda, Suzuki, ... ) was selling 50cc machines, Kawasaki came out with 125cc, 150cc machines that had the power to distinguish themselves. Instead of arguing about profit margins they jump the game into a new realm.
The early Kawasakis were sold under the name "Yuen Foong" which is actually Taiwanese paper manufacturer, now they are sold as Kawasakis.
Even today these machines are the heavy duty bikes making deliverers like LP gas cylinders. I can just imagine how such heavy loads behind the rear wheel effect handing!
But when bikes are kept up they look pretty as when they came out.
These early Kawas are 2 strokes, the big fins on top
When you got a good thing, you want to protect it with an alarm system, like this green one.
But every bike has room for customization, this owner used paper clips to increase the finning surface area. I just wonder how he knew is needed enhancement.
