Before going to Boracay, Florence and I met in Taipei. I sometimes feel like the country bumpkin coming to the big city when I go to Taipei or KaoHsiung. They are just so "worldly" compared to my old, traditional Tainan.
Taipei has a vigorous night life where most people in Tainan have probably gone to bed. There is a mall down near Taipei 101 that is hopping all night long. LEDs and all manner of lighting are big at the mall.
Along the mall, there are street performers. Yo-yo artists.
Clowns.
Human Statues
Their routines holds the audience in a trance for a long time.
You don't see this in Tainan.
I feel like that when I go to Phoenix from Tucson. It's such a different feeling there.
